A mixture of modern jive and rock'n'roll, Le Roc is a fast, fun and sexy type of dance that you can do anywhere: in clubs, at balls or elsewhere, to most kinds of upbeat music, be it 60s Swing or current chart music. The society is based around the weekly classes on a Thursday evening that run through the autumn and spring terms. Many of the moves are easy to learn so that, within 5 or 6 weeks, you will find yourself impressing your friends and yourself.
The society is equally split between guys and girls and getting involved is a great way to make new friends. No previous knowledge or experience of dancing is required for any lesson or event. There is no need to come with a partner as there will always be lots of people willing to dance.

Steve is in the third year of his PhD in Physics and Physiology.
After finally plucking up the courage to start Le Roc in his final year of his undergraduate and quickly deciding he loved it, he continued to improve his skills (which, as shown in the picture, includes being able to walk...) in the first year of his postgrad before opting to become involved in the committee in his second year.
